Britain’s fattest man, Carl Thompson has died. The 33 year old (pictured right in his home in May) had been confined to his home in Dover, Kent, for more than a year, relying on carers to bathe him after being unable to move around on his own due to his 65 stone weight.
Carl (pictured left as a young boy) said he began eating heavily as a means of coping with his grief after he lost his mum in 2012. He pleaded for professional help and vowed to shed weight after being told by doctors his ill-health would kill him. Unfortunately, he died this morning. RIP, Carl!

America’s ‘Youngest’ Killers set free!!! It was almost exactly 16 years ago in Port St. John, Florida, when Catherine Jones and her brother Curtis became the youngest children in U.S. history to be charged as adults for first-degree murder. Before they were out of middle school, they were in prison — a place that was, in many ways, safer than their actual home.
As children, both Curtis and Catherine were victims of constant sexual abuse at the hands of a family member.
“He would make me perform oral sex to the point where I would throw up,” Catherine said in a 2009 interview with Florida Today’s John A. Torres.
Catherine told Torres that her mother left her father after years of domestic abuse. Soon afterward, the relative who would become their attacker moved in. A man who was previously convicted of having sex with a 14-year-old girl was now sharing a bed with young Curtis.
The abuse didn’t go unnoticed by authorities. Just four months before the murder, an organization that is now called the Department of Children and Families documented proof that the children were being attacked. However, the reports were never investigated and the truth was laid to rest.
And so the children took matters into their own hands, plotting to kill their abuser as well as the adults who didn’t protect them: their father and his girlfriend, Nicole Speights. In January 1999, a 12-year-old Curtis used his dad’s shotgun to kill Nicole. Catherine, then 13, wiped the fingerprints off the gun. The siblings then fled to the woods, where they hid until authorities found them.
Without trial, they pled guilty to first-degree murder, and were sentenced to 18 years and life probation.
Fast-forward to 2015, and if she continues on her 16-year streak of good behavior, Catherine will emerge into the real world on July 28th. She’s a 30-year-old woman who’s never experienced the things most of us consider a part of daily life — like sending a text message.
As Catherine approaches her release, she reflects on life outside of prison. She told Torres,
“Of course there are fears, mainly because there’s so much I must learn to function like a normal person: how to drive, fill out job applications, text dress for a job interview, build my credit, obtain life, dental, medical insurance. I’m completely clueless. The idea of being 30 and completely dependent on others to teach me how to do these basic things isn’t appealing. I’ll leave prison just as clueless as I was at 13.”
But she won’t be alone.
Two years ago, Catherine married a man who read about her plight in Torres’ original 2009 article. Senior Chief Ramous K. Fleming of the U.S. Navy reached out to Catherine; the two became pen pals, and eventually lovers. They were wed on November 27, 2013 in a chapel at the Hernando Correctional Institution. Catherine’s husband has since retired from the Navy so that he can help her adjust to the 21st century.
“I’m prepared for life after. There is a lot she has to learn but it’s very exciting at the same time. I look forward to it and I think my training in the military has prepared me for it. There will certainly be a lot of adjusting to do.”
Curtis will be out soon, too, but he had a year added to his sentence back in 2004 when he tried to escape after a hurricane.

BBC interviewed one of Dylann Roof‘s roommates who is a black, & he said Dylann, who massacred 9 people in a black church on June 17th wasn’t racist, never heard him say anything racist and that he had told them he was planning to shoot people at the University of Charleston and not a black church. No one took him serious enough to report to the authorities.
BBC: What’s your reaction to the news about Dylann?CHRISTON: That he actually did everything he said he was going to do. And, I don’t feel no different today than I felt about him before he did this stuff. Like I said, who’s to say Dylann was in his right mind? Nobody knows what anybody go [sic] through?
BBC: Was Dylann ignorant? Was he racist?
CHRISTON: No. Like everybody’s making him out to be racist, but here I am in front of you today as a black man and telling you I look at him no different today than what I looked at him last week. Because he never said anything racist to me. Never treated me any different than he treated Justin. (turns to friend sitting next to him on the sofa)”
BBC: You said at the beginning of the interview that at one point he might have said something but you didn’t remember it? What did you mean by that?
CHRISTON: Like ah…like he told that he was not—that church was not his primary target at all. That’s why my heart goes out to those nine families because you guys weren’t the targets.
BBC: What does that mean?
CHRISTON: He wanted to shoot that school up. UCA–University of Charleston. It’s three miles up the street from that church.
BBC: He-he told you–
CHRISTON: Yeah–
BBC: He wanted to attack the school?
CHRISTON: The school (he says this at the same time as the interviewer) Yeah he had no—he had no intentions of harming those people in that church.”

A police affidavit released Friday accused Roof of shooting all nine victims multiple times, and making a “racially inflammatory statement” as he stood over an unnamed survivor.But Mr Scriven claims that Roof never made any racist remarks around him.
“My opinion about Dylann doesn’t change, my feelings about him doesn’t change. I still love him as a friend, no matter what,” Mr Scriven said.
Jolie Pitt, who serves as a special envoy of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), and her 9-year-old daughter with husband Brad Pitt visited a Syrian and Iraqi refugee camp in the town ofMidyat, in theMardin province of Turkey.
The star also met with Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, discussing the crisis in the world’s largest refugee community, according to a press release.
“Our world has never been richer or healthier or more advanced. Yet never before have so many people been dispossessed and stripped of their basic human rights,” she said according to the release. “We should call this what it is: not just a ‘refugee crisis,’ but a crisis of global security and governance, that is manifesting itself in the worst refugee crisis ever recorded – and a time of mass displacement.”
“This is a central problem. We cannot pick and choose which human rights violations we will and won’t tolerate,” Jolie Pitt said while at the Midyat camp.
“Shiloh is very aware that I hold refugee families in high regard and has been asking to come on missions and meet them for many years,”.
“Upon leaving the family, Shiloh asked many questions,”. “It is of course hard to explain all of the harsh realities of war and displacement. She said she felt sad, but was happy that she went and is looking forward to the next visit.”
The actress and Shiloh will join Pitt and the rest of the famous family for Father’s Day on Sunday.
The good guys at TMZ reporting…. 47 year old Pamela Anderson, was in Genoa, Italy where she was officially named “Countessa de’ Gigli.” Anderson was honored for her work protecting marine life. She’s also creating a partnership with The Italian Mediterranean Sealife Association.
