Teen tweets homeless man’s Hand-Written Resume to help him land a dream job…what happened next is amazing —Take a Look!

Teen tweets homeless man’s Hand-Written Resume to help him land a dream job…what happened next is amazing

I wish more people felt this way. An 18 year old guy named Aaron O’Dwyer from Liverpool, England, was leaving a job interview when he saw a young homeless man sitting on the streets. He approached the young man, offered him 5 pounds and then noticed he had a handwritten resume. Aaron took one of the notes, tweeted it and within a few minutes it got over 3,000 retweets. And not only has the guy been taken off the streets, he now has plenty job offers.

Explaining to ABC News, Aaron said

“I couldn’t just walk past him,. It was the right thing to do. I think it was because he was a similar age as myself. So I walked up to him and asked if he wanted some money and I gave him some change. You could tell he wasn’t on drugs or anything. He was a normal lad. I noticed in his hand he had about 15 to 20 handwritten resumes and he insisted I took one. It was quite a sad read and, obviously, a cry for help. It took me 16 seconds to take the resume and post it on Twitter. That’s all it took to get him off the streets. It’s quite rewarding for myself. I feel good about it.”

The man has been identified as Jordan Lockett, 20.

The resume, written on loose-leaf paper read, in part:

Need work Need help Seriously lost I’m so sick of wasting away now I’m always being told to go to homeless centres [sic] but there [sic] ] not helping I write my C.Vs like this because I don’t have anything to put on it “

The CV also said that he left school at 13 or 14, for his motorbike mechanic training.

O’Dwyer said.

“He was left with no skills and no grades, so he couldn’t go on to a university. That’s the reason why he said he’s on the streets.”

Homeless man: Donald Gould shows off his virtuoso piano skills – and it’s incredible

Homeless man shows off his virtuoso piano skills - and it

This Homeless man piano playing has been shared thousands of times around the world.

Now widower Donald Gould hopes his son might see the video and finally get in touch. He plays the piano almost every day it is there, and said his skills on the piano and were self-taught and he has been homeless for around six or seven years.

Hoping someone will see the video and offer him a job playing or teaching music, the interviewer adds: ‘You have an amazing gift that is really important for this world.’

People are now trying to crowdfund enough money for Donald to get a home, car and the qualifications he needs to teach music.

The former marine lost custody of his three-year-old son when he became a drug addict following his wife’s sudden death in 1998, a Florida television channel reported.

‘They took our child away from us, and my wife took a handful of morphine pills and died. She just went to sleep,’ he said. ‘I couldn’t keep it together and eventually social services got tired of it and they terminated my parental rights. Everyday it’s painful. There’s not a day that’s gone by since they took him from me that I haven’t thought about him. He turned 18 last August 24th. I wish he would come and find me.’

Police make example of ‘homeless’ man begging with $800 in pockets

Police make example of ‘homeless’ man begging with $800 in pockets

Homeless man begging with $800 in pockets. The police department in Slidell, Louisiana tackled the issue of homelessness on their Facebook page last week in a very unapologetic way, highlighting a specific incident that happened this week. Below is what the wrote;

“Transients, also known as beggars or homeless, are often a hot topic of debate for Slidell residents. There are people who feel these individuals all need to be arrested. Some feel they should offer help. Literally, every day, someone either calls Slidell Police or sends us a message on Facebook asking us to do something about this problem.”

The post describes a man, 59-year-old Franklin Jones, who reportedly begs at the intersection of Gause and Interstate 10, according to WGNO. Police can’t arrest Jones because begging isn’t a crime. But on May 21, Jones was spotted stumbling into the road, urinating on the side of the road and he allegedly stole a shopping cart, police said.

Upon his arrest, police found over $800 in his pockets.

Here’s an excerpt from the post:

We continue to offer help, but when you can make $800 in less than a week by “begging”, some people say, “Why get a real job?” We’ve found jobs for people. We’ve offered assistance by bringing some of these individuals to rehab facilities. Bottom line is, it’s up to the individual person if they want help or not. All we can do is guide them in the right direction. We can’t force people to do things…

Slidell Police does their best to address these issues by following the letter of the law and ensuring that no one’s rights are violated. There is no easy solution to this problem, and quite frankly, it is a much bigger and deeper issue than a strictly a police matter. We hope this sheds some light for our Slidell residents and hopefully answered any questions or concerns about this issue.

Some responded in support of the post, while others blasted police for publicly shaming the man.

Heartwarming moment 5yr boy begged his mum to buy a homeless man dinner

5 year old Josiah Duncan (pictured with his mum) brought brought a group of Waffle House diners to tears when he asked his mother to buy dinner for a homeless man he saw outside – and then sang a blessing with him at the table.

Ava Faulk said her son wouldn’t stop asking her questions when he spotted a disheveled man holding a bag with his bike outside the restaurant in Prattville. When Faulk explained the man was homeless, little Josiah asked ‘What does that mean?’  Faulk told Josiah that it meant he didn’t have a home, to which her son responded, ‘Where is his house? Where is his family? Where does he keep his groceries?’

But Josiah was most concerned that the stranger didn’t have any food, and he begged his mother to buy the man a meal at the restaurant, she told WSFA 12 News.

The mother agreed, but when the man sat down at the restaurant and ‘nobody really waited on him’, Josiah decided to take matters into his own hands.

He ‘jumped up’ and asked the man if he needed a menu, telling him ‘you can’t order without one’, Faulk said.

When the man insisted he would be fine with a simple cheeseburger, Faulk made sure he knew he could have anything he wanted.

The mother remembers that, when he asked if he could have bacon, she told him ‘get as much bacon as you want’.

And before the man could dig in, Josiah said he wanted to ‘say the blessing with him’, singing loud enough for the other 11 customers in the restaurant to hear.

‘God our Father, God our Father, we thank you, we thank you,’ he sang. ‘For our many blessings, for our many blessings, Amen, Amen.’

Faulk said everyone, including the man, teared up. It’s a moment the mother said she will never forget.

‘Watching my son touch the 11 people in that Waffle House tonight will be forever one of the greatest accomplishments as a parent I’ll ever get to witness.’
