Hala Basha-Gorani is a an American news anchor/correspondent working for CNN international based in Atlanta, Georgia, popularly known as Hala Gorani. She is currently involved in hosting CNN International’s 7 p.m CET International Desk from CNN Centre. Hala was born in 1970 March 1 in seattle, Washington, USA from a Syrian and a French Parents. Hala is a common Arabic name meaning Corona. Hala Gorani was mainly raised in Paris and also has lived in Algeria. Thus she can speak English, French and Arabic languages fluently. Hala Gorani got her bachelor degree in economics from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia and graduated from Institut d’estudes politiques popularly known as Sciences Po in the year 1995. Hala Gorani is a great fan of American television program American Idol. She has been dedicated a first novel of French novelist Yann Moix named “Jubilations Vers le Ciel” in the year 1996.

Hala Gorani had started her career as a reporter for La Voix du Nord and Agence France-Presse. Later in 1998, Hala had joined in the CNN Network after a stint at Bloomberg Television in London. She started her work in CNN as an anchor for CNN International’s European breakfast show, CNN Today. Since then she began to report from every country located in Middle East including Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Israel, Jordan and the Palestine territories. In November 2005, she became the first television reporters to have report on the ground of Ammam, Jordan after the attacks on two hotels by Al Qaeda’s suicide bombers. Hala has also covered several of the reports on Middle East Countries. She had covered the news on 2006 Lebanon-Israel war from Lebanon which earned CNN an honor of Edward R. Murrow Award. She had also covered the news of the respective French presidential elections in the year 2002 and 2007 from CNN. Hala Gorani had attended and moderated the closing sessions of World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland which had featureal several business and political leaders including Tony Blair, Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Elie Wiesel and JP Morgan Chanse & Co. Chairman and CEO James Dimon.
Hala has helped the CNN network honored with several awards from her different coverages which includes her coverage on gay life in the Middle East which helped the network to earn a nomination for a Gay & Lesbian Allaince Against Defamation (GLAAD) award, 2010 Haiti earthquake coverage led the CNN Network be honored with the one of the highest honors in international journalism called Golden Nymph Award, her reports from Jordan and Egypt and coverage from Arab Spring helped the network to win Peabody Award in 2012. Along with the contribution to CNN’s prestige, Hala has received a News and Documentary Emmy for her coverage on 2011 Egyptian revolution. Besides this, Hala has interviewed several of the renowned and important personalities mentioning the Dalai Lama, Jimmy Carter, Tony Blair, Rafik Hariri, etc. Having been such a successful one, she is in the demand of every news channel. She has a very high net worth with subsequently high pay. There is no exact information on her salary but it must have met her worth.
