Indian mum places advert for a husband for her son

 

 

An Indian mum placed a newspaper advert for marriage for her son who is a gay activist which could be considered as noble, the problem with the advert is that gay marriage is illegal in India

 

India’s Supreme Court ruled in 2013 that “carnal intercourse” interpreted as gay sex, is punishable with anything up to a life sentence.

The advert reads: “Seeking 25-40, well-placed, animal-loving, vegetarian, for my son (36, 5’11”) who works with an NGO. Caste no bar.” (Though IYER preferred).

 

Harish Iyer, the groom in question, is a prominent gay rights activist based in Mumbai. He was also the only Indian mentioned in Guardian’s list of 100 most influential LGBT people in 2013.

“My mother is like any other mother,” he says. “She wanted to find me a partner and help me settle down. It became news only because I was looking for a man instead of a woman.”

While the Indian newspaper Mid-Day published the advert, 3 other leading national dailies refused to run it. According to Iyer, The Times of India and Daily News and Analysis rejected the advertisement because of “legal reasons.”

 

Hindustan Times gave Iyer a message in writing, which read: “Dear Mr. Harish, Sorry to say but we can’t carry this advertisement in HT Matrimonial Section.” No further explanation was given.

 

However, Mid Day’s executive editor Sachin Kalbag which posted the advert said his organization did not see the LGBT community as any different.

“A lot of credit goes to the advertising department because they treated this as any other ad.” Kalbag said and he hopes other papers will follow suit.

It’s being called India’s first advertisement for a partner for a same-sex marriage.

Woman & Son held in box for months found dead

Sandra Kay Sutton, 46, and her 17-year-old son, Zachary Wade Sutton, were found dead early yesterday morning Thursday May 21st in a relative’s home in Clinton. Both victims appear to have been shot overnight, while Sutton’s relatives were at work, Clinton police Lt. Sonny Lynch said.

Police have been searching for her former boyfriend, James Barton Horn Jr., since he was charged with kidnapping 3 weeks ago. Investigators allege he kept Sandra in a wooden box off-and-on for 4 months at the same home they searched yesterday in Sedalia, about 45 miles northeast of Clinton.

Horn, who served time in prison for a kidnapping and sexual attack, disappeared before police could arrest him on the kidnapping charge. Lynch said Horn is “absolutely” a suspect in the deaths.

They surrounded a home they thought Horn was in for hours, calling to Horn to come out and deploying a robot to search the area, but officers found no one once they went inside, said Sgt. Bill Lowe of the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Sutton told police in late April that Horn had threatened her in a car with a “tire jack” after an argument in January. When they returned home, he began building a wooden structure, and she had to help with its construction, according to a probable cause statement filed by Sedalia police.
Sutton was allowed to leave the box in the evenings when Barton returned home from work, according to court documents.

Police said the box was kept in a bedroom and contained a bucket full of urine and feces. The box, which investigators said was 100 inches long, 48 inches wide and 52 inches tall, also contained several layers of insulation, padding and sleeping bags, and a small air hole.

Sutton escaped April 30 and ran to the home of a neighbor who called police — but Horn was gone by the time police arrived.

A neighbor, Roeanna Wright, said she saw Sutton crouch down after running from the couple’s home in April. Her husband, Lloyd Wright, said she looked panicked, adding: “She was crouched down like she was trying to hide when she ran.”

Horn served about three years in prison in Tennessee in the early 1990s in connection with a kidnapping and sexual attack. Records also show he pleaded guilty in 1997 in Mississippi to unlawfully kidnapping and abducting his estranged wife. He was sentenced in that case to 12 years and 11 months in prison, plus five years supervised release.

Lynch warned that Horn was an “extremely dangerous, violent person,” and that anyone providing him shelter could face charges if they were aware of the pending kidnapping charges. He said Clinton authorities were unaware Sutton was staying in the area, and that court documents don’t indicate she sought any protective orders again Horn.

An 18-year-old student won British most naturally beautiful face in the country! Everyone’s definition of beauty is different, but when it comes to science it is all about the measurements! A British competition decided to look for the most naturally beautiful face in the country that fits the measurements of being symmetrical. 

Florence Colgate is a Dover Grammar student with blonde hair and blue eyes but that’s not why she
won the competition.

According to Daily Mail, considering that the most attractive woman would have pupils just half the width of her face from ear to ear, Colgate almost foots the bill by scoring a 44 percent ratio.

Science also says the most attractive woman’s distance between her eyes and mouth is a little over a third of the measurement between her hair line and chin. Colgate’s ratio is 32.8 percent. Plus her face is almost perfectly symmetrical.
So because she won the competition, she will go to a London modeling agency to get her picture taken for billboards and posters for Superdrug stores that will appear across the country.
