Video: California woman dying from severe Anorexia

A woman suffering severe anorexia has released this desperate plea for help as she battles to recover.

Rachael Farrokh, 37, stands at 5ft 7in and weighs barely three stone.

The actress from California has been struggling with the eating disorder for 10 years but says local hospitals can no longer treat her.

Her husband, Ron Edmondson, quit his job and is now her full-time carer as she clings to life.

He claims hospitals won’t admit Rachael because she does not meet their minimum weight requirements and is regarded as a “liability”.

Rachael says: “I need your help. I’m suffering from an eating disorder. It’s a very severe kind of anorexia.”

“I’ve been suffering from this for quite a while now. I’m five [foot] seven, 40-something pounds and no hospitals will even take me at this point.”

She later adds: “I need your help, otherwise I don’t have a shot. And I’m ready to get better.”

On Rachael’s fundraising page, husband Rod explains that she needs specialist treatment.

“There is only one hospital in the country that specialises in re-feeding patients at such a low body weight and it’s my mission to get her there. If she receives too many calories her metabolism will kick up and she will lose even more weight. This is a VERY delicate medical situation,” he writes.

Rachael has had multiple blood transfusion, blood clots, edema and has suffered heart, liver and kidney failure as a result of her eating disorder. Rod describes his wife as “a captivating, kind and amazing woman that has always put others before herself.”

Urging anyone suffering anorexia to get help, he adds: “This disease comes with an incredible amount of pain, emotionally, physically and mentally but it is often oversimplified.

“People think it’s just about being skinny and that they just need to eat something and it will be all better.

“The reality is people are hurting so much that they’re trying to make themselves disappear, and if we ignore it we let them. I don’t want this fate for my wife.”

7 year old Manuel Abraham eaten alive by a crocodile in Mexico while his father helplessly watches

Search continues for Mexican crocodile and seven year old’s body. 7 year old Manuel Abraham had been playing with a balloon in the Barra Santa Ana estuary, Mexico, when it landed on the river bank. He walked to the bank to pick the ball, as he bent down to get the ball, a crocodile in Mexico leaped from the river, locked its jaws on Manuel’s head and dragged him underneath the river while his Dad watched in horror.

Members of the public rushed to the little boy’s aid, but the crocodile had disappeared.

City officials have deployed the military, civil protection groups and fisherman to find the crocodile and the remains of the body but the search has so far been unsuccessful.

 

In fact, they have been asked that all crocodiles be captured and their tummies opened to see if they’d find the boy’s body in any of them.
